Congratulations! I have so many questions but I can be patient.
True story: The late, great Denis Donoghue was not my primary dissertation advisor in grad school, but I'd taken many classes with him and very much admired the breadth of his knowledge and the elegance of his writing, so I asked him to be one of my readers. When I gave him my proposal to review, he returned it with a single question scrawled in the margin. That question made me reframe my entire thesis. A couple of years later when I gave him my final draft to read, I told him how his question had influenced my research and writing.
It turned out I'd misunderstood his question and read more into it than was there. He liked my dissertation, though.
Have a great weekend. Thank you for the daily stacks.
It is wonderful to see Anne. I hope you’ll understand the spirit in which I say she reminds me so much of Evie Colbert, another amazing woman who rides and resides beside another truly amazing man! Thank all of you for making my life better by bringing sanity, literacy, insight, humor, hope, humanity and so much more into our lives! 🧡
My whole career changed (almost 30 years in)when my question became “what questions are we trying to answer with this data or Information ?” No kidding. One question… fascinating topic to ponder
Congratulations on the new book! How exciting! And what a terrific concept. (Am also looking forward to a future scenario when its title is contained within the question that's given in response to a Jeopardy clue.)
Is there a Cocktail Chatter/Stack the Week crossover episode coming?! What a fun Friday surprise! Thanks John and Anne!
Good to see your face(s) Hi Anne! Lizzie and I miss you on The Late Show ,John !
Just noting Anne's glass is empty, good Sir.
What a delight to see Anne.
I hope you enjoy your weekend.
I will be spending mine at work on the TBR pile. It appears a new work by J Dickerson will be joining my stack soon.

Hi Anne…observant as ever I see :)
Thanks for sharing the rain! And good luck on the new venture.
We got a good rainstorm yesterday, too. Very much welcome here in Colorado!
You and Anne enjoy your weekend 😊
Enjoy your weekend!! Rain and all!!
What a great idea! Focusing on the question and not just the answer is kinda like looking at the journey, not just the destination.
Congratulations on the new book! You and Anne enjoy the weekend.
