I am now using the airline story to end my diet. I'm hoping being overweight keeps me inside the plane since, depending on the day I wouldn't trust the wife to hold my legs or push me out.
You left out the part where Democratic lawmakers introduced legislation and amendments to block President Trump from using or retaining the luxury Boeing 747 gifted to the U.S. by the Qatari government, focusing on preventing it from being transferred to his personal presidential library. Of course, we all know how useless Congress is lately, but still! I am rooting for them. This plane thing is egregious.
Oh I do hope this daily experiment continues! It’s always a pleasant surprise to see another edition has landed. Your Friday July 10 edition is pure podcast gold. I will never NOT wear my seatbelt in the plane again. I like how you embroider your stories with science, physics, and general advice. A wonderful end to the week.
Man oh man, what a great stack of news this week, all with your wonderful humorous take on things. This time I chose the podcast version; You always have a happy, hopeful sounding voice - I always enjoyed watching you on Colbert as well as your CBS news show with Maurice. I really miss those times and your podcast fills some of that hole. Be well, and please keep this excellent experiment going, including those occasional Siri interruptions!
This is EXACTLY what I did. Perfect for my Saturday with our town having their own party today ending with fireworks which were a delight, along with a glass ( or two) of wine . Oh and not to boast, when flying and in a car I always wear a seat belt. Maybe the only one habit I’m consistently good at.
Thank you for once again adding perspective to our sojourn through Flatland, for your "reportage of many dimensions." (Sorry, Edwin Abbott Abbott.) You are obviously a natural storyteller, and your natural humor adds a pleasant texture to the Stack of the Whatever. I thoroughly enjoyed today's report and I look forward to next week.

Another great Stack! Also, some additional information on the Ryanair window incident released reveals that the aircraft was at 16,000 feet when the window failed. The British Airways pilot who survived his cockpit windscreen failure had been flying at 17,000 feet, but the Southwest aircraft in which the victim did not survive was at 32,000 feet when the window failed. I am certainly not an aeronautical engineer, but pressure differential between the aircraft and the atmosphere at the altitude may be a critical factor in survivability. And yes, wear your seatbelt! Also, the Podcast version is effective education and entertainment while grilling burgers on the grill while simultaneously battling a very hungry seagull trying to steal dinner1
