Easy to listen to and appreciate the written piece to reference parts. Your choice of words and analogies are rich and thoughtful. Thank you especially for the shout out to teachers… 10,000 people showed up in Raleigh today to protest no budget , disregard of the Leandro Court decision and teacher pay. My favorite part today beyond that was the Lemonade/OPEC analogy . Would have loved that when I was teaching Econ to high schoolers! One conclusion I’ve drawn that is a truth is that we need consistent messaging , not spins and deals , from those we elect to hold positions of power who make decisions about us and our military. Thank you for the time you invest in this podcast.
Enjoyed the podcast as it provides the opportunity to take a breath and relax as you bring some sense of order to the chaos of events we now encounter on a daily basis. As someone whose GI Fellowship research project in the 80’s involved a trial of a med for treating chronic hepatitis B patients, I especially appreciated your segment on the risks of delaying administering the hepatitis B vaccine to newborns rather than providing it before hospital discharge. There is no benefit to the delay, and as you pointed out, the delay will decrease vaccine compliance by parents, thus increasing the risk of young children acquiring the virus which in their case is 90% likely to become chronic and incurable, with a possibility of cirrhosis and liver cancer. A special thank you for pointing out there are multiple ways a baby could acquire the virus, as many on social media are posting that it can only be spread through drug abuse, which is of course, false.
Thank you for a great read on a Sat afternoon- I really appreciate the depth of information along with your perspective. I agree with Jill that: I hope that you & Stephen Colbert will spend some time together on YouTube talking about how crazy the world is on any given day!
The last time, no the next to last time, that NC GOP gerrymandered our voters they literally had spreadsheets. Our state supremes called it egregious. Talk about a smoking gun. But guess who put a stay on it and then refused to take it up? Yep, SCOTUS. So this last time they gerrymandered even more. Good news is there are only 2 blue districts now out of 13 or 14 statewide so their work is about done now. There's not much left for them to destroy in NC now thanks to latest SCOTUS crime.
