Yes! THIS is how the news is done. Long time supporter of yours (and Schieffer - although I'm young). Could you please do a segment nightly - about 30 minutes M-F (vs the whole week) I know many are longing for this from a veteran journalist at substack This is real news, people. Also enjoyed the international news segment. Definitely the news a la John Dickerson style and NOT the whitewashed legacy news (which I stopped watching early in 2025). Please keep this going. I joined just so I could comment.

Thank you for your Herculean reading of the important topics of the week. It helps me keep the disparate pieces of information in some semblance of order. You assemble quite a panorama of events that aids in seeing the "big picture." Also, feel free to let my clan know my hero status...

Dammit John! I just remarked to my wife that the Straight of Hormuz is the Schrödinger’s Cat of navigable waters! My shot at fame gone… Love your reporting and the Gabfest!

Thank you for all of this, but especially for the information about the 988 hotline. In our crisis-every-hour world, that’s the kind of story that would have easily been overlooked. It’s also a story about caring people trying to help young folks who are desperate. Lives have been saved. That’s where my tax dollars should be going.

So many things to like this week, but here's to the Dave Matthews reference! 100% agree.

John - Thank you for providing the Stack! Obviously, a lot of effort to assemble and deliver in the professional manner you’re providing. Your steady voice and keen perspective helps to calm and intelligently inform us in these hectic times!

Again, kudos on an awesome job!

If you can find a way (energy + effort) to nurture this format, and allow it to take hold, it would be wonderful. After I listened to your first stack of the week, I was smitten. Your format and cadence feels familiar, and oddly comforting. I appreciate the opportunity to listen to someone trusted, curating each day’s leading stories and news for me. Thank you.

Thank you. Free press as the founding fathers conceived it, I’m sure.

It's Sunday noon, and I just finished listening to the whole thing while reorganizmg my linen closet. I love listening to you read the news. However, I so much prefer shorter pieces in the middle of the week. Maybe a short stack Mon, Wed, & Friday. I'm kinda tired by the end of the week and it's not when I want to dive deep into the real meaning of what's happening. I would love a bigger dose of your calm wisdom during the week. Please. ❤️

I’ve been a longtime fan of the gabfest. Last night my 11 year old son wanted to hear about the news so I played him your stack of the week while we followed along in the text. He loved it! And I’m more comfortable having him listen to your informed, fact based analysis than many commentators. We also much prefer hearing your voice to AI. Thanks for what I think will be our new Friday evening activity. (Although shorter, more frequent stacks would also work well.)

Oh that’s very good to hear!

I’m very appreciative that you provide a non AI-voice alternative for the audio. Agree to disagree on the Dave Matthews thing.

Re your diary format. My preference depends on the day, time, & my mood. I enjoy listening to you read it but then there are days when I just want absolute quiet like this morning when I awoke at 4:30 AM. Then I prefer to read. So I say thumbs up to both options. OR if I listen but want to go back and review/clarify comments on a specific topic later.

Confirmation of Warsh will be the final nail in the coffin of our domestic economy. Gird your loins. Stuff your mattresses.

On the upside, good to see Obama is still living rent free in the mad king's head.

Amen to your Herculean effort and incredibly detailed analysis. A weekly perspective makes sense. Thank you!
