Just wanted to say that even without these clarifications, the episode was so helpful, so enjoyable that I listened twice!
I’ve done this with many of the full Stacks as well, which, incidentally, I think are more fairly compared to a generous pot of soup than to the bouillon you mentioned. That said, I love the new format too, and I look forward to following whatever further experiments you undertake.
This is one of the great aspects of this media. Perhaps we can call it: All Things Reconsidered. Thank you for clarifying and connecting aspects of the news feed that speed by without making full impact. Your notes help explain why it feels like our world is fraying about the edges.
All of the above!!! We are living through a scary time!! We Americans are used to stability and grown ups! …stability is at risk and the grown ups are absent in our govt right now!
Re: the disruption of norms, rules and processes theme, I keep thinking if the past is no longer prelude, this is either a transition period to some new setup, or it is the new order.
It's pretty clear that the old order was in need of adjustment 80 years on from WW II. Some economies had risen, some had fallen relative to others. New political unions were established, and old ones dissolved (e. g., Common Market, Soviet Union) into new forms. The international operating systems were not overhauled to optimize the system's interrelationships, variables were merely tweaked.
Will this era of unpredictability and its fallout be a springboard to a more fair set of rules to govern the relationships among the players? Will leaders rise to meet the challenges as they redesign the rules? Will citizens elect leadership who have the will and skill to tackle the tough issues?

Thank you for doing this!
I truly appreciate your added notes, helping us see connections in a larger theme. Stellar work!
Well framed. This is a great summary of how off the rails we have become. Sometimes the pith is in the afterburn.

I really appreciate your explanations of the “connective tissue “ of all the issues. It makes it make more sense.
