Unfortunately, when the leader at the top is a shamelessly prolific liar, and wholly vindictive as well, officials too-often eschew truth out of fear….. thus blatantly breaking the oaths they swore to protect and serve we citizens and uphold the law.
In the eyes of the “officials” I don’t believe they felt they had every reason to tell the truth. By sticking to the script, that Mr. Pretti was responsible for his own death, they know that their base will accept that interpretation. And the ICE reign of terror will continue.
