What’s the right perspective for deciding next action? Let’s stipulate Team USA has botched the program to date. If the having a nuclear Iran was never acceptable, and now we have enhanced Iran’s leverage in controlling the Strait of Hormuz, shouldn’t we look at the situation as if this were the starting point?
Is continuing the blockade and current state for another 6 months or a year an alternative to consider for the US, the region and the world given where we are right now?

I believe the real difference here is that our mad king could cajole allies into allowing him to lie and save face when he ran his mouth and/or played damaging 'tricks' against them (& ultimately harming us) just to wash their hands of the psychotic bully (which of course never works in the long run).
Iran has no intention of letting him off the hook, even knowing that would end this thing, preferring to let him twist in the wind with his Pyrrhic victory (at best). They seem willing to take the pain to force Americans to see the light about their naked emperor and help further the demise of America's reign not to mention Israel's. Plus they want us completely out of the Middle East so inflicting pain on their neighbors becomes an assist with that.
Better framing is to check stock market trades. Did I read yesterday that we bombed them again? After his buddies took advantage of lowered oil prices probably.
