I forgot about this interview. Somehow you managed never to take your eyes off the ball — and did so in a very civil manner. Will miss you on the Evening News. Please keep us posted.
Remember: Cotton said after viewing the 2nd missile strike on the boat that he thought it justified for various BS reasons. The only shithole is his mouth.
No wonder you’re leaving CBS News. It’s becoming a National Enquirer entertainment outlet with such right-wing supporting fake news specials like with Charlie Kirk’s widow tearfully responding to leading questions seeking sympathy not anything citizens need to know to become informed. Whatever happened to news?
I watch Amanpour & Co., M-F on PBS at noon and at 11:00 or 12:00, depending on when other programs finish. I never miss Democracy Now! also on PBS for no nonsense news. I will truly miss John Dickerson, the only other newscaster I watch - except for the great Rachel Maddow on MS Now and YouTube for current news. Everything else is late. Otherwise, I read all my news on NYTimes, Alternet and our local newspaper.
Thanks for highlighting this reality. What Cotton does and does not portray as "derogatory" repeats a known message about his approach to public service. Betrayal of public trust is a well-understood impeachable offense.
Among our plethora of positive challenges in post-2026 Congress is that of defining a precedent for impeaching and removing the quacking flock of Congressmembers, Executive and Judicial Branch employees at least cost to taxpayers while simultaneously rebuilding the government whom criminal coders destroyed at the "sieg heil" of a multi-billionaire.
Thank you for digging deep on this issue to hold slippery pols accountable for their words and deeds. It’s pretty clear the ‘sentiment’ of Cotton is to make excuses for trump and sidestep any admission , through double talk, that their real ‘sentiment’ is full bore racism toward nonwhite people.
I get it. I didn’t hear it so it isn’t true. Rather like Grandpa not remembering which administration did what - what he said last week. Cotton is a miserable apologist as well.
I want truth and honesty from our elected officials. Somehow we have to bring an end to the alternate facts that Republicans have been pushing since the Bush years. ENOUGH.
Of course they see it as the old “alternative facts”, “what he meant was _____, not what he said” and anything that leaves no doubt of their unfaltering loyalty.
This lacking of integrity, morals, honesty and character is who we have chosen to represent us. What does this say about us as Americans and people?
Thank you for pursuing honesty in journalism. I respect your resignation from CBS.
A Truth-seeking missile you are, John, and unerringly civil about it. Keep flying, Good Sir!

Cotton has been proven to be a toady for Trump since his rising in his smug dismissal of reality challenging his Mad King.
You really grilled the Cottonmouth—great job.

Thank you for keeping the focus on seeking truth amongst all of the lies and mischaracterizations.

Lack of integrity in Congress is contagious
