Dear Mr. Dickerson,

I just viewed your latest appearance on "Washington Week in Review." Please forgive this trivial observation: the spread collar and tie do not work with your excellent features. Please, ask your men’s store to find a good option.

Thank you for your excellent reporting,

Wade Mayberry

Wade,
Thank you for the compliment and the suggestion. I'm going to have to have to consider this carefully. That's one of my favorite shirts! (For those wondering what Wade is talking about, the appearance can be found here:

Yes, the tie is too wide - perhaps its the knot) and the collar too short and too high on the neck. You might be in danger of suffocation, but the serious danger is the Fauntleroy effect.

Oh pshaw. The shirt is perfectly acceptable. However, you are permitted to scan the entire color spectrum in your selections for a tie. Embrace your inner Crayola!

Best regards,

Cadenza

John, he's right. I know your sentiment well, I too often have to be "told" what to wear it seems....but upon taking the advice, I see the difference, and understand why.

enjoy your tweets much, keep 'em coming....

I agree with Cadenza about the shirt. The mistake would be to wear the same kinds of collars and ties all the time.

Jay

I know I'm totally out of line, but I thought you looked dashing as always. You have one incredible smile. Anyone so fixated on your tie and collar might want to reassess their priorities. Oh right - I like your commentary and reporting too. Promise.

Perhaps a double-windsor knot would work better with this shirt... Sorry, couldn't help but pile on.
